Do you have experience of improving health information services? A rare opportunity has arisen to be part of a new team to improve the quality of Macmillan’s local information and support services. A credible expert in health information and support services, you will be part of a new team of improvement advisers working to ensure that Macmillan’s 170 local information and support services across the UK all meet our new Macmillan Quality in Information and Support Services (MQuISS) standards. You will also support health professionals offering personalised information, through information prescriptions and equivalent programmes.

You will work onsite with local information and support service managers across the UK, enabling the managers to meet the MQuISS standards and ensure that their services are fully integrated into the local information economy. You will also be supporting local information and support services and multi-disciplinary teams to offer personalised information to people affected by cancer.

Alongside your experience of information services, you will have a deep understanding of patient information management, skills and practices. You will also be able to demonstrate experience of change management in complex organisations and working with multi-disciplinary teams, ideally in a health or social care setting.

You will be able to demonstrate project management skills and a deep understanding of the information needs of people affected by cancer. And in return, we commit to providing you with development opportunities and offer excellent benefits including a 34.5 hour week (with an early finish on Friday), BUPA, life assurance, pension, childcare vouchers, generous annual leave, and interest free loans for season ticket and gym membership.

Closing date for applications: Wednesday 16 January 2013

Interview dates: Friday 25 January 2013 and Wednesday 30 January 2013
