Internal Audit Services are provided in partnership with Suffolk Coastal District Council, together the service strives to seek for continuous improvement and to add value across both Councils, in governance, risk management and internal control.
As Principal Auditor for the Waveney Team you will provide leadership and management for the Internal Audit Service, ensuring it is efficient and effective, conducted in a professional manner and in line with best practice. This position is based mainly at the Town Hall, Lowestoft but you will be required to work at other partner sites and display the same qualities and skills.
You will have regular contact with Members and Chief Officers, which requires high levels of sensitivity, honesty, integrity and objectivity.
In order to be considered for this position you will need to be either CCAB qualified or have passed Practitioner Level exams for the Institute of Internal Auditors. You will also need to have practical working experience within audit, including risk management experience, (preferably within a local government environment) and good working knowledge codes of practice, legislation and other developments affecting the Council, local government in general and the Internal Audit profession.
