Fixed Term to 31st March 2013
You will provide an efficient, proactive, effective and sympathetic housing advice and options service to people applying for housing assistance, people presenting as homeless and/or potentially homeless in accordance with current legislation and practice.
You will assess the background of the housing needs of applicants and utilise the widest range of possible housing options available in partnership with voluntary and statutory partner agencies.
You will have previous experience of working with the public, in particular vulnerable adults, the ability to work on your own initiative and to communicate in a tactful and sympathetic way. The ability to write reports and keep accurate records are also essential requirements of this post, as is a working knowledge of housing legislation and current practice
Ideally you will hold the Key A and B Shelter Housing Advice or other relevant qualification.
It is essential that you have a full UK driving licence and ideally the use of a car. A CRB check will also be required for this post.
