With a reputation as exciting and innovative local authorities always on the look out for fresh new ideas, Suffolk Coastal and Waveney District Council are now looking to recruit a Head of Customer Services.

Suffolk Coastal and Waveney work in partnership and following a senior management review this new opportunity exists for the right person. As a key member of the Corporate Management Team and reporting to a Strategic Director you will be responsible for the effective direction, leadership and governance of all aspects of Customer Services..

The core focus of the role will be to lead the review and implementation of the Customer Access Strategy with particular emphasis on demand management, channel shift and service changes in order to provide a consistent, effective, efficient and robust service. You will work in a corporate manner taking account of the wider implications beyond the service area for which you are responsible and, where necessary, working in a matrix management context on various corporate projects. You will work collaboratively with the wider Suffolk public sector.

Working closely with elected Councilors, customers, partners and stakeholders you will lead a dedicated team of staff across both authorities and offer a wide range of relevant experience and knowledge.; It is important that your own service related knowledge is complemented by appropriate people and performance management experience.

It is essential that you can demonstrate a track record of delivering Customer Services in a large multi-disciplined organisation.. You must have experience of working at a senior level in a political context and of building and maintaining effective relationships. You should have a track record of working and forging successful partnerships with a wide range of internal and external bodies.
