Suffolk Coastal District Council and Waveney District Council are leading the way when it comes to working in partnership. We already have a joint management team and have agreed to join our services to ensure that we are delivering them in a high quality and cost efficient way. To drive this forward, we have already taken steps to integrate our planning service and are now delivering a single planning service to meet the needs.

The Councils are looking to appoint a talented and dynamic team leader to lead and manage the team working in the southern part of the Suffolk Coastal district. This area contains significant planning opportunities, including the regeneration of Felixstowe, expansion of the Port of Felixstowe, BT’s Research Centre at Adastral Park, significant housing growth pressures as well as a fantastic coastline, numerous market towns and villages all within a sensitive cultural and environmental landscape.

This is a real challenge but for the right person the rewards will be in seeing the qualities of this lovely area enhanced whilst at the same time helping to deliver sustainable economic growth. The postholder will manage and lead the team but will also play a leading role as a case officer in taking forward their own cases.

You will have a proven track record in successfully and effectively managing, have considerable post qualification experience in Development Management and Membership of the RTPI.
