Why the Tenant Services Authority?

The Tenant Services Authority (TSA) is the new regulator for affordable housing in England. We launched on 1 December 2008, having taken over the regulatory powers of the Housing Corporation. We believe that housing matters, and that access to good quality housing improves people’s lives. Our goal, quite simply is to raise the standard of service for tenants. We aim to do this by:

  • championing the needs and aspirations of tenants, leaseholders and residents - both those within and those as yet unable to access affordable housing;
  • promote choice for tenants and providers of affordable housing;
  • challenging providers of affordable housing services to meet or exceed the highest standards of organisational effectiveness and service delivery

This is where you come in. I order to achieve our goal, we need people that will feel at home with our forward thinking, challenging and transparent approach and who share our passion, focus and commitment. Customer-focused professionals who understand that housing is about more than just putting roofs over people's heads and that every tenant matters.

When you work for the TSA, you'll join a team that shares your passion for partnering - we work with tenant groups, central government, housing associations and other key partners to find common agreement, while encouraging innovation and creativity.

We are the sum of the talents of the people who work for us. Whatever your role, you can expect to be treated like a professional - we'll respect your skills and keep you informed, while encouraging your participation and giving you room to develop the career you want. In return, we'll expect you to be responsible and committed. You should also be proactive and open to change.

You'll join an organisation that really knows how to take care of its staff. As well as regular appraisals and reviews to enable your development, you can expect a comprehensive induction programme, personal development plans, a wide range of training courses and there are also opportunities for sponsorship towards professional qualifications. Also, because of the sector-wide range of our work, you'll have huge scope for career development and diversification. Click here for a fuller list of TSA benefits.

Your contribution will help TSA act as a catalyst for change to improve the lives of 10 million people.

So, the question really shouldn’t be why would I want to work for the Tenant Services Authority, it should be why would I want to work anywhere else?
