Tilehurst Library requires a Saturday library assistant to provide a high standard of customer service to its users.
The library offers a range of activities for the community which include coffee mornings and adult craft sessions; children’s craft sessions, story times and rhymetimes.The suitable applicant must be prepared to promote, support and participate in these events if required.
Duties will be issuing library stock, answering enquiries, registering new users and helping customers access IT facilities.
The library is a front line service so you need to enjoy working with the public, be enthusiastic and possess good communication skills. Good team working is essential in this role. Knowledge of IT packages would be an advantage.
Interfiling of stock is done daily so good English and numeracy skills are required. Lifting and carrying is a requirement although trolleys are provided.
