Reading Borough Council is looking for committed and enthusiastic individuals to join our busy Housing Advice Team. The main focus of the role will be to prevent homelessness and this will involve working with a number of agencies and customers. Experience of undertaking comprehensive assessments is essential.
You will need to have a good understanding of the housing issues facing a broad section of the community as well as knowledge of the complexity of problems people may have to overcome.
You will need to be organised and methodical and have the confidence to work on your own initiative.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are key and you will be willing to work in a pressured environment, making difficult decisions in a short period of time.
