Are you looking to pursue a legal career in Childcare Law?

The Joint Legal Team, based in Fountain House, provides a legal service to the six Berkshire Authorities under a joint arrangement (hosted by Reading Borough Council). We are seeking to recruit applicants who will commit to the continued success of this well-respected team and to the high standard of service which we provide to our clients. Successful candidates will be rewarded with an interesting and varied workload and a friendly and supportive working environment.

We require an admitted Solicitor or Barrister. Applicants should have extensive, proven experience as a childcare specialist in local government or private practice.

All applicants should have an excellent working knowledge of key child care legislation, in particular the Children Act 1989, the Adoption Act 1976, the Children and Adoption Act 2002 and related delegated legislation.

Also desirable would be a working knowledge of Social Services law and practice generally. Applicants should be keen to specialise in Childcare Law in a Local Government setting.
