Are you a committed, experienced child care social worker with a particular interest in fostering and adoption?
We are a small, friendly specialist team who work in close collaboration with our colleagues in the fieldwork teams to find short-term and permanent placements for children, alongside undertaking the full range of family placement roles and responsibilities. This Senior Social Worker post incorporates a specialist role as the Borough’s Foster Carer Reviewing Officer.
We are looking for someone with good assessment, communication and report writing skills, and the motivation to achieve excellent standards within our fostering service. You will be involved in organising and chairing reviews for foster carers, writing the minutes and contributing to the development of our fostering service and the skills of our foster carers.
You will be required to hold a professional qualification (DipSW/CQSW or equivalent) and be registered with the GSCC. You will have experience of assessing and supervising foster carers, and chairing meetings.
The post may require some evening work and occasional travelling within the southern region.
