We are looking for a dynamic and talented planner to join our busy planning policy team. We are seeking enthusiastic planners to join us as we take the Borough Local Plan through its final stages to examination and adoption, as we support communities preparing neighbourhood plans, and as we get ready to face the next round of strategic planning challenges.
The role will suit someone who has recently completed or is nearing the completion of their planning training. This is an excellent opportunity to gain your first substantial experience of planning policy work. Reporting to the Strategy and Plans Team Leader and assisting more senior members of the team, you will get involved in a broad range of planning policy work. Applications are particularly welcome from candidates who are numerate, can demonstrate good analytical skills and possess strong organisational skills.
Based in Maidenhead, this is a career graded post, with the opportunity for advancement and more responsibility based on performance. Supervision, team support and opportunities for professional development will be provided. You will be joining an experienced and friendly team in a supportive working environment, with a visible and accessible management team, and a commitment to staff training, development, and progression. You will have completed or be nearing the completion of a post-graduate equivalent qualification in planning or a related discipline, and ideally have some experience or knowledge of working in a planning team (preferably in policy) and/or of working in local government. You will be a team player, possess good communication skills and take a proactive approach to meeting the needs of customers.
