Are you an experienced Contracts and Commissioning Manager? Our ambition is to become a strategic commissioning authority and if you are ready for a new challenge and can help us to achieve our vision, we want to hear from you.

We are looking for a highly competent Manager to help us to maximise performance and drive savings for the Operations Directorate.

You’ll be responsible for developing our commercial and commissioning strategy to provide a strategic framework for commissioning, decommissioning and commercial activity.

This role will also give you the chance to design a team from scratch, who will manage contracts relating to a number of front line services, such as Highways, Waste, Street Cleansing, Transportation, Facilities and the development of a digital post room for the future, to the value of £35M.

You’ll also be reviewing all our contracts for identifying efficiencies, reducing duplication and ensuring they are robust, cost effective and deliver what is expected of them, ensuring KPIs are submitted on time, are accurate and monitored.

We expect you to come with a successful track record in contract management and commissioning; possess strong analytical, negotiation and commercial skills, as well as budget management and leadership experience, with the ability to develop positive working relationships with all stakeholders.

Using your credibility and gravitas, you’ll represent the Council across other local authorities and providers, whilst exploring the potential of shared services and alternative service delivery opportunities that are committed to improving services for residents.

As a skilled contracts and commissioning manager, ideally with exposure to Highways, Transportation or Waste services, you’ll ensure a business improvement approach across all areas, along with effective budget management and forward planning expertise.
