Manor Green School is a large and highly successful special school offering education and therapy to over 230 students aged 2-19, who, for a variety of reasons require a specialist education.
The school’s vision and mission statement is to be the Centre of Excellence for students with special educational needs. Our students’ needs range from requiring additional pastoral and emotional support, through those with moderate and severe learning difficulties to some having profound, multiple learning and complex health problems.
Our aim is to ensure outstanding outcomes for all of our students and our Philosophy of Education (ACE Model) underpins our promotion of students’ progress in a holistic way by planning, delivering and assessing progress in the three key areas:
A – academic progress
C – care and therapeutic learning support
E – enrichment and life skills development
We are already a good school and now we wish to be the best!
- to offer outstanding teaching to a small class of students (we group our students according to Key Stages across the 2-19 age range); this includes planning, preparation, delivery, assessment, evaluation and reporting responsibilities
- to work closely with the students’ parents/carers and other professionals
- to lead a team of support staff in the class, including performance management of one HLTA
- to work collaboratively with all other school staff in order to create and develop outstanding opportunities for our students’ academic progress, care and therapeutic learning support and promotion of enrichment and life skills development.
