Social Care in Peterborough has undergone a transformation in the way it conducts its business and manages performance. We’ve restructured, relocated and we’ve grown our establishment and are looking to fill a number of additional posts.
The recent unannounced inspection reported that “referrals are timely, consistent and help keep children safe”.
We are continuing to grow our traditional fieldwork teams and require a manager who can demonstrate proven experience in a referral and assessment service. Referral and assessment receives and processes new referrals. The work of the team includes:
Child Protection core assessments
Initial assessments of children in need and families with acute distress
Signposts to other services that may be available within the city
We require a practitioner with at least 3 years post-qualifying experience including being in post as a team manager. The post-holder will manage a dynamic and enthusiastic group of social workers and would be committed to shape and develop the team as the Council moves towards an integrated service.
