Social Care in Peterborough has undergone a transformation in the way it conducts its business and manages performance. We’ve restructured, relocated and we’ve grown our establishment and are looking to fill a number of additional posts.
The recent unannounced inspection reported that “referrals are timely, consistent and help keep children safe”.
On the whole, the fieldwork teams are well resourced and we are seeking to appoint to our remaining social work qualified posts.
The referral and assessment service receives and processes new referrals. The work of the team includes:
Child protection core assessments,
Initial assessments of children in need and families with acute distress,
Signposts to other services that may be available within the City
We require experienced social workers who can complete and make important decisions on initial and core assessments, and carry out child protection enquiries jointly with the police.
Please indicate on your application whether you are applying for a Grade 9, Grade 10, or Grade 12 position (see attached job descriptions)
