Newham HIA helps older and disabled people to remain living
in their homes by carrying out adaptations in private and public
sector housing as well as some repairs in the private sector.
We are a friendly and innovative HIA (also carrying out the
functions of a Grants team), working in an area of London with
high needs and a multi-ethnic population.
We are currently seeking to recruit an eighth Surveyor to join
our busy HIA, which also includes a part-time Principal Surveyor,
three Caseworkers, a Handyvan service, an admin team and a
small team of Housing OTs.
We expect that you will have experience of adaptations for
disabled people, repairs to domestic property, working with
vulnerable people, working with people living in their own homes,
preparing schedules of work and drawings (using CAD),
inspecting work and authorising payments.
Experience of working in an HIA would be an advantage.
