Based at Weelsby Primary School, Weelsby Street, Grimsby DN32 7PF.
We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to provide individual behavioural support for a child in our Reception Class who is extremely able but has challenging behaviour;
You will need to
• Be able to develop Autistic friendly strategies to manage very challenging behaviour;
• Be able to work through challenging behaviour focusing on the positive aspects of the child to help build his self esteem and to develop social skills.
• Be flexible and positive in your approach to ensure that the child achieves success.
• Have good standards of literacy and numeracy;
• Be an effective communicator;
• Be able to work as part of a supportive staff team.
Our most recent OfSTED report in December 2008 recognised that we provide “consistently good teaching & learning, an exciting curriculum and a very high standard of care”
Our children are friendly, keen to learn and supported by a positive and hard working staff team.
Experience of working within a school setting is desirable but not essential, as training and support will be provided.
