‘Transforming outcomes through embedding equality’
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Equality and Diversity Officer working in North East Lincolnshire. The role will play a key part in moving the Council “Towards Top Performance” by embedding Equality and Diversity work in to the operational processes of the Council thereby contributing to improved community outcomes.
This is a key post that will provide the lead role in terms of all aspects of Equalities and Diversity including community cohesion. The post holder will take responsibility for and co-ordinate the requirements of the Council to promote awareness of equalities issues and work across the Council to ensure that equality and diversity is considered when planning, developing and delivering services. We are looking for someone with a proven track record in establishing integrated Equalities and Diversity Strategies at both a strategic and operational level. You will also have experience of working across organisations to develop frameworks, guidance and advice that raise the awareness of equality and diversity issues and help to develop a co-ordinated approach to them. You will be expected to work closely with a range of organisations and individuals within North East Lincolnshire to identify emerging issues and ensure that they are considered in the decision making process. The post holder will also develop actions to ensure that the Council and its partners are delivering in line with equality best practice.
