The Initial Response Team is a team of four fte support workers which works within the Educational Psychology Service and is lead by the Primary Consultant. The work entails involvement with individual children and young people within the age range 5-13 who are encountering a specific difficulty within their lives that is impacting on their learning and behaviour in schools.
We are seeking a person who has experience of engaging with young people and is able to respond sensitively but professionally to their needs. The successful applicant will work under the supervision and support of the Initial Response Consultant and members of the Educational Psychology team. Some work will be school based, some based at the Western campus. There is the opportunity to work with families and to undergo training to develop skills in particular areas of work with children and young people. Although this post is for maternity leave cover in the first instance, longer term opportunities may be available.
The successful applicant will be offered paid sessional work to familiarise him/herself with the Service and the role of the Initial Response team prior to taking up the post. The post holder must hold a current driving licence and have use of own transport.
