When you look for a new employer, choose somewhere that cares as much about its staff as it does about its customers. Like London & Quadrant. For five years running now, we have been listed by the Sunday Times as one of the top 100 companies to work for in the UK. While we’re very proud, it only confirms what our staff have known for ages, that we have long placed a strong emphasis on staff training, welfare and development.

L&Q are entering a new phase in their commitment to strengthen their management of health and safety and have implemented a 5 year strategy. This strategy creates a new H&S function and as a result we are looking to recruit a team of H&S professionals including a Trust Fire, Health & Safety Officer. This post will cover the whole of L&Q which includes our four Neighbourhoods; West, North East, South and South East.

Reporting to the Head of Health and Safety but working on your own initiative, you will support the roll-out of the Strategy within the Neighbourhoods and bring fire, health and safety standards and practices to a high standard with a pragmatic approach. You will provide the lead on fire safety, fire risk assessment and fire policy whilst also providing a health and safety role to our Supported Living teams.

You will be professionally competent with a relevant Fire Engineering/Fire Safety qualification plus a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent and will have relevant experience (preferably in a fire safety environment); however your approach and attitude will be more important to us than your academic qualifications. You will be a strong team player who is happy to have a hands-on approach in helping to achieve a ‘safety culture’ within our organisation. You will be willing to undertake personal development as necessary.

If you enjoy working in a fast moving, challenging environment and you really want to make a difference to residents and staff, then we look forward to hearing from you.
