Stoneydown Park Primary School is right at the heart of the local community and is a friendly, multicultural school in Walthamstow, East London. The school adjoins an attractive park and is two minutes walk from bus routes and Blackhorse Station. Walthamstow High Street and market is five minutes walk away.
The school is a light, spacious 1960s building with a separate Nursery, nine classrooms, ICT suite, library, teachers’ resource area, Learning Mentor’s room, Inclusion and SEN rooms and Music room. There are 240 children on Roll and most classes have 30 pupils. The Nursery has 20 part time pupils in the morning and afternoon. The vast majority of children are motivated and behave well. They represent a range of backgrounds, cultures and languages.
Class teachers are supported by Classroom Assistants, a Special Needs and Inclusion Coordinator, EMPA staff to support bilingual children, Nursery Nurses in the Foundation Stage, Learning Mentors, Special Needs Assistants and a specialist music teacher. There is a varied programme of staff professional development throughout the year, either provided by the school, or the LEA. The LEA’s Education Centre is only a few minutes drive away and offers a range of meetings and courses. The school is very well resourced, particularly for Literacy and Numeracy. Also we have a library and art room.
More informally, all staff are more than willing to help each other, share good practice, be on hand for advice and generally work together as part of a team to make Stoneydown a nice school to work in for staff, children and visitors.
Application form, job description, person specification and further information are available from the school, please contact Ismet Mehmet on 020 8520 7026.
