The Learning Mentor will support pupils who are under-achieving and who face barriers to learning and develop effective strategies to support identified pupils’ learning, social, emotional and behavioural development. The Learning Mentor will also support pupils to achieve the five ‘Every Child Matters’ outcomes and work closely with teachers, support staff and other agencies.

A knowledge and understanding of the issues and factors relating to underachievement and the barriers to learning will be essential.
