Job Summary

Strategy and Client Manager

Maternity Cover until August 2013

(Fixed term or Secondment Opportunity)

PO8: Starting salary £51,381 pa incl. LW.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Lambeth Council to lead the Strategy and Client team for a year to cover maternity leave. At a time when nationally and locally, the housing landscape is changing significantly, this post is at the heart of ensuring many of our housing services are fit for purpose and deliver what residents want.

This post will take responsibility for ensuring the new Lambeth Housing Standard is delivered by our two Arms Length Management Organisations (ALMOs) and for ensuring the new Housing Strategy 2012-16 is embedded and delivered, bringing our stakeholders and partners along with the Borough.

Housing is at the forefront of delivering some of the Council’s cooperative objectives with the outsourcing of Housing Management to our ALMOs and Tenant Management Organisations. This post ensures these organisations deliver appropriate and robust services to residents and supports the governance of our TMOs. This post also takes the lead on supporting these organisations in embracing the Council’s cooperative agenda.

This post is not without its challenges. The landscape in Lambeth is changing in line with the Council’s cooperative ambitions and this postholder will need to support the Strategy and Client team through times of change and restructure. The postholder will also be responsible for driving forward the Council’s new Tenancy policy, Allocations policy and Homelessness review.

If you are interested in taking on a challenge and adding to your career portfolio, this is an ideal opportunity. For an informal discussion on the role, please contact Reniera O’Donnell on or 0207 926 3762.

Closing date for receiving the completed application form is Tuesday 5 June 2012 at midnight.Interviews will be held on 14 and 15 June 2012.
