The Role
We have 2 Team Manager positions available: One managing a Children Looked After team, another position managing a Children in Need team.
Your role will include:
- Offering effective supervision to six to seven social workers, a senior practitioner and unqualified staff
- Ensuring that decisions are taken on all cases in a timely manner to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children
- Allocating cases to practitioners
- Ensuring that practitioners develop their skills, knowledge and experience and that annual appraisals are undertaken
- Ensuring that all case work is undertaken to a high quality and within timescales
- Ensuring that assessments, conference/LAC review reports, Court statements, care plans etc are completed to a high quality and within timescales.
- Ensuring that the Public Law Outline is followed and that legal planning meetings are held when appropriate
- Ensuring that performance and conduct issues are addressed
- Ensuring that performance targets are met
- Developing effective relationships with managers within Harrow Council and with partner agencies
- Ensuring that complaints are responded to appropriately and within Council timescales.
Requirements
It is essential that you are an experienced and skilled social worker practitioner, hold a recognised social work qualification, be registered with GSCC. We require you to hold a current and full UK driving licence.
