The Bishop of Rochester Academy is looking to recruit a Teacher of Music.

The Academy opened in September 2010. As an inclusive Christian Academy we welcome people of all faiths and none. Sponsored by Rochester Diocesan Board of Education, Canterbury Christchurch University and Medway Council, we are committed to quality professional development, spiritual growth and the highest standards of behaviour, achievement and pastoral care for all our students.

With specialisms in Music, Maths and ICT, we have a £23 million building programme underway, moving two campuses to one site, due for completion in 2013. Our plans are ambitious.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join us if you are an experienced teacher of Music. You will ideally have QTS to apply for this post – although exceptional NQT’s may be considered. The Academy has recently introduced Music Scholarships for students, so the Music/Performing Arts Department is at the centre of Academy activities.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • the knowledge/experience of teaching of GCSE Music, either BTEC L3 Music & Music Technology or A’ Level Music
  • a proven ability to develop Music Technology within the Academy
  • the ability and enthusiasm to develop instrumental groups and be fully involved in the musical life within the Academy

If you are passionate about helping young people reach their potential, ambitious to be the very best of teachers and excited by the thought of cutting edge curriculum development, we’d love to hear from you.

Closing date: 31st July 2012
