As the post-holder, you’ll provide a surveying service for our temporary accommodation managed and owned properties, as well as providing technical support to the Temporary Accommodation department in managing voids, landlord repairs and leasehold issues. You’ll also be responsible for checking the quality of contractors’ work through inspection and by contacting residents. Taking ownership and leading in specialist property related matters across the group, and advising other members of the department in complex matters, will also be expected of you.

To succeed, you’ll have an ONC Building Surveying qualification (or similar discipline), a well-developed level of technical building knowledge with a good understanding of building regulations and of the statutory frameworks within which RSL’s operate. Previous experience of specifying void works and managing both re-let and major voids in a social housing environment is also essential, as are the ability to accurately diagnose building defects and write competent reports, excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to use Microsoft Packages and databases to Intermediate Level.
