The Job

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team, offering a health and social work service to clients with substance misuse problems. You will be based in an integrated multi-disciplinary team and will take an active leadership role around the team’s social care functions. This includes the assessment and review process for placements in residential rehabilitation, provision of carers assessments and implementation of Safeguarding Adults Procedures.

The successful candidate will also manage a reduced caseload of clients with substance misuse problems who have complex needs.

The Person

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to take a leading role in provision of a social work/care management service to people who misuse substances in the London Borough of Newham.

You will have a good understanding of the needs of people with severe substance misuse problems and of service provision in this field. You will be a qualified social worker with substiantial post qualifying experience and will be registered with the HCPC. You will have some experience of staff supervision, which may have been with student social workers or volunteers. Closing date 7th June 2013
