Schools IT Engineer (Fixed term contract - 6 months)

Role Purpose

This is a unique opportunity to work with a fast growing School’s IT team. The team has successfully been transformed with a new management team in place and is building a strong reputation for delivering high quality ICT services to schools in Tower Hamlets. This has resulted in an increasing demand from schools for our services. The post holder will provide high quality ICT service support to the authority’s schools and clients through the preparation, installation and configuration of equipment, ICT support for staff and pupils within defined framework processes.

Key Responsibilities

This post will be a 6 month contract providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd Line support. You will be required to maintain and develop the authority’s schools ICT systems for safe, effective use by pupils and staff. In addition, you will provide technical support in line with the authority’s ICT support service definition and escalating incidents to the service desk for investigation and resolution.

Requirements

The post holder must have a relevant IT qualification such as Microsoft Certified or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and experience of supporting front-line professionals. You will be required to pass a technical assessment as part of the interview process. You will be expected to have good understanding of four or more of the following: Windows Technologies (7,200x/XP, 200x Server, Enterprise Active Directory, IIS & SQL), RM Community connect, PC Hardware, LANs & WANs, Thin Client Technologies, Apple OS X, IEEE 802.11.
