Salary: £29,854 – £32,369

Hours of work: 37 hours per week – Full Time

Organisation: Mole Valley District Council

Location: Based at the Council Offices, Pippbrook, Dorking, Surrey.

The Planning Policy team is looking for a graduate in town planning with some experience of planning policy work to join them at a challenging time when the Council is reviewing the Green Belt boundary in the District, allocating land for future development and working with local communities preparing Neighbourhood Development Plans.

This is a great opportunity to join a busy, motivated and respected team who have a good track record of planning policy development. Initially you will be working on the preparation of the Council’s Land Allocations Plan, Neighbourhood Development Plans and the Community Infrastructure Levy. These work streams will help you develop skills in plan making, including research, community engagement and plan drafting.

In return, you will be expected to be able to write clear, concise and well reasoned reports, letters and policy statements; be confident and professional in working and engaging with colleagues, Councillors, those in the development industry and the wider community about planning policy issues. You will also be expected to demonstrate IT skills across a range of applications.
