We are seeking an outstanding individual to join the Board as a Non-executive Director who will also Chair the Integrated Audit and Governance Committee.

East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust gained Foundation Trust status on 1 March 2009 and is one of the largest hospital Trusts in England, with an annual budget of c. £500m.

Comprising five hospitals and delivering general and specialist care including renal, vascular and haemophilia services, we employ 7,000 staff and serve a population of approximately 720,000.

Key responsibilities of the Board include:
• Developing the strategic direction of the Trust
• Promoting continuous improvement in the quality of its services
• Ensuring the organisational performance targets are achieved

It is essential that candidates have substantial business experience, gained at a senior level in large and complex organisations with a clear customer/consumer focus, and hold a recognised accountancy qualification.

Remuneration is £15,000 per annum and the expected time commitment is on average 3 days per month.
