Post objective
To contribute to the areas of course delivery, course management and course development within the events management subject areas at the University of Derby. To undertake research, scholarship and income generation activities. To undertake module leader responsibilities in events management programmes, as appropriate. In addition, to proactively support the development of the School’s strategy for growth.
Principal Accountabilities
To inspire and motive students on a range of programmes within the University’s portfolio.
To provide a challenging and rewarding learning environment
To contribute to curriculum development activities including the validation of new programmes.
To act as module tutor and/or leader for a number of identified modules.
To provide excellent tutorial support to students and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects and dissertations.
To undertake research and raise the profile of the events management programmes.
To support the School’s external income generation activities.
To engage proactively with student recruitment activities and provide appropriate advice on progression and career opportunities.
To activiely seek and develop contacts with industry, work experience providers and external organisations to improve the student experience and professional development activities.
To comply with the quality assurance and enhancement systems, thereby ensuring that high standards are maintained and the student experience is enhanced.
To attend and contribute to meetings of Division, School and University committees as required.
To undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time and as agreed with the line manager.
