12 Month Fixed Term Contract
To continue our work in preventing homelessness and finding housing options in the private sector we are looking for a motivated housing professional to join the Housing Services Team.
From your work in private sector housing or housing advice you will be fully conversant with legislation in respect of landlord and tenant, and homelessness. You will use this experience to work with landlords to make existing tenancies successful and increase the availability of private sector options for residents in need of housing. You will support tenants to maintain their tenancies through an understanding of their rights and a meeting of their responsibilities, including linking with other agencies such as Housing Benefit and tenancy support services. With an understanding of the Council’s wider housing responsibilities you will also give general advice to customers with a housing issue and assist in the development and delivery of the Council’s Housing Strategy through individual pieces of project work.
To meet these objectives you must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, an ability to manage a case load and deliver priorities within target times. You will have experience of managing customers’ accounts, pursing arrears and maintaining records to a standard acceptable for successful legal action. You will have a commitment to continued professional and service development.
A full driving license and access to car is essential.
