We are responsible for over 450km of highway network and require an experienced Highways Accident Claims Officer. As a Highways Accident Claims Officer you will be required to investigate any claims made against the council which have occurred on the Public Highway. You need to have an in depth knowledge of highways legislation concerning accident claims. You will also be required to attend Crown Court, Magistrates and County Court and in giving evidence at such courts as and when required.
IT skills should include the ability to use Microsoft Office packages. Experience is also required in drafting and formulating reports for both internal and external use.
Experience in the use of Symology or alternative EToN street works management system will be useful.
The successful candidate will join a busy team within our Highways Department and you should therefore have good time management and organisational skills and be prepared to meet strict deadlines. A full driving licence and daily use of a vehicle will be required.
