Graduate Trainee Social Worker

Are you enrolled on the Masters Degree in Social work?
If you are just about to start or have completed year one of the Masters course you could apply to become a trainee social worker in West Berkshire. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to train as a social worker through on West Berkshires Graduate Social Work programme.
We are offering a training place in conjunction with either the Royal Holloway University or Oxford Brooks University. After successful completion of the Masters Degree you will become a newly qualified social worker in West Berkshire Children’s Services. We have a training contract which will require you to do your student placement in one of our teams, work for us when you are not at college and be committed to work in the authority for a minimum of 2 years after you qualify.
This is a long established training route and we currently have students at both universities. During your time as a student you will be associated with one of our locality teams team who undertake Child Protection, Looked after Children and Children in Need work.
West Berkshire is a rural authority and candidates will need to have a driving licence and a car.
