Job Details

Energy Officer (2 posts)

The London Borough of Enfield is seeking to recruit two Energy Officers to work in our experienced Energy Management Team. This high profile team has responsibility for measuring, monitoring and managing the energy bills and Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) payments for 3 important customers: * Schools: 90 secondary and primary schools, including local authority controlled, voluntary-aided, academy and special schools * Housing: over 1,000 accounts for the communal areas in Enfield Homes’ low and high rise tower blocks * Corporate Property: Council buildings including the Civic Centre, other Council offices, parks, libraries, car parks, industrial estates & units, youth centres, educational centres, children’s centres, community centres, depots & recycling centres, golf courses, allotments, homes for the elderly, day centres and Millfield Theatre

The Energy Management Team aims to provide excellent customer service, using energy management to save money by saving energy in their buildings. This is already helping Schools, Housing and the Council to maintain the quality of existing services during these difficult economic times. As an Energy Officer you will have responsibility for measuring, monitoring and managing the electricity, gas and water bills for Housing or Corporate Property. You will also be the first point of contact for related energy management queries, with responsibility for delivering excellent customer service and helping drive energy savings in their buildings. Working closely with the Energy Officer for Schools, the 2 new Energy Officers need to be enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals, with financial accounting, Microsoft Excel and data management experience. We are also seeking individuals who can hit the ground running. You will need to be able to: * Provide excellent customer service * Communicate effectively with customers (face to face, telephone and email) * Plan, organise and prioritise your workload * Deliver continuous improvement

A knowledge of the Carbon Reduction Commitment is also desirable.
