An opportunity has arisen to join a small, supported housing team covering Guildford, Waverley & Surrey Heath areas.

Working with a small caseload, the role includes promoting independent living and tenancy sustainment, enabling tenants with mental health problems to move on to fully or more independent housing. The successful candidate will be required to carry out a varied range of practical & emotional support roles to help tenants maximise their recovery and integration into their local community. The ability to engage with tenants and a wide range of statutory and community agencies is essential, as is a ‘can do’ approach.

Experience of working within a mental health service is preferred, but full and ongoing training, support and regular supervision will be provided. The post requires participation in the 24 Hour ‘On Call’ service, providing out of hours telephone support to tenants.

For an informal discussion or further details please contact Kathy Butt (Snr Practice Lead) or Karen Kavanagh (Service Mgr) on 01483 443586.

Surrey County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We want to be an inclusive and diverse employer of first choice, reflecting the community we serve and particularly welcome applications from all under represented groups.
