Required from January 2013, an inspirational, enthusiastic and energetic Deputy Headteacher to contribute towards the further development of this happy, thriving and high achieving school and its pupils. You will be an excellent teacher and an innovative and inspiring leader, who will become part of an ambitious and supportive school where everyone works hard together to help all achieve their full potential.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated professional to work closely with the Headteacher in leading the school in the next stage of its journey towards excellence.

We become Barnby Dun Primary Academy from 1st June 2012.

Ofsted February 2012 said:’Pupils, parents and carers express very positive views about the education that the school provides. One parent summed the school up accurately by writing that ‘Barnby Dun Primary is a wonderful school, it’s a safe, well kept school, I would highly recommend it to any parent.’

We wish to appoint someone who:

• Has outstanding professional, management and teaching abilities
• Will develop a close partnership with the Headteacher and support her in her drive for continuous improvement and self-evaluation
• Can work effectively with other members of the Leadership team to evaluate and improve the quality of teaching and learning throughout school
• Has a firm understanding of the use of data to set challenging targets and raise standards, thus ensuring progress for all pupils
• Will promote creative and innovative teaching and assessment strategies to meet the needs of all pupils
• Has experience leading whole school initiatives and evaluating their success and impact
• Is an exemplary model of effective classroom practice, with high expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour
• Is committed to inclusion and equality of opportunity
• Can effectively motivate and inspire children and colleagues
• Has good interpersonal skills and a commitment to developing positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, parents and the governors
