Main Duties & Responsibilities

To supervise the Benefits Quality and Control team, taking responsibility for the Benefits Service Quality process, to ensure continuing improvement in the standards of Accuracy of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit Assessments

  • To ensure that all complaints, reconsiderations and appeals are responded to in accordance with relevant Service Standards, and to ensure timely submission of all reports related to our Subsidy Claim.
  • To contribute to the management of the Benefits team as a whole by working closely with the Benefits Manager, Deputy Benefits Manager and Assessment Team Leaders.

Essential Criteria

  • Educated to Degree Level or equivalent, or relevant experience
  • Proven experience of working in Housing Benefits
  • Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience of managing and training others to promote high performance and innovation.
  • Experience of managing and using Quality and Performance Management Systems.
  • Experience of managing conflicting and competing priorities effectively, keeping team performance on track
  • Experience of working with bespoke Housing Benefit Systems
