We are looking to recruit part time Customer Advisors to deliver frontline, face to face, first point of contact resolution customer service within our network of 9 Customer Service Centres. Various posts with the following hours of work are available:
20 hours Monday to Friday 10.30am – 2.30pm – Fixed term until 31 March 2013.
18.5 hours Monday to Friday 10.30am – 2pm x 3 days and 10.30 – 2.30 pm x 2 days – Fixed term until 31 March 2013.
The normal working week for these posts is Monday to Friday, with Saturday on a rotational basis (1 in 6 weeks) and occasional late nights on a rotational basis (currently 1 in 10 weeks).
You will be responsible for resolving a wide range of issues including Council Tax queries, Housing Benefits applications and Waste Management enquiries, whilst also supporting the services of Partner organisations such as the Department of Work & Pensions. You will be using various computer systems associated with the enquiry as appropriate, within a high volume and pressured environment which is often challenging and demanding.
It is essential therefore that candidates possess:
• 4 GCSEs, including A*-C in English and Maths.
• Experience of working within an operational environment including dealing with the public on a face to face basis.
• Experience of using various computer systems and office software for varying applications.
• The ability to work on own initiative as well as contributing to work as a team is also a requirement.
The Council operates a network of 9 sites and successful applicants will be allocated a base site after training is completed however can expect to transfer between sites to suit the needs of the service.
Please note that successful applicants will be required to work 37 hrs each week for the 6 weeks basic training period.
The post of Customer Advisor is career graded and therefore potential for progression exists for committed candidates.
