An opportunity has arisen within the ICT Department for an Oracle DBA / Application Support Team Manager. The team supports a wide range of ICT systems and are responsible for the technical delivery of system development, installations, upgrades and maintenance.

This position offers a dynamic working environment which will require flexibility and commitment to maximise the personal development benefits that are associated with such a technical, project orientated role.

The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate strong managerial skills within the ICT environment with the ability to support and mentor team members in technical, problem solving and analytical skills. A thorough understanding of the delivery of business solutions based on relational databases, and the infrastructure to support data availability via traditional application software and Web based systems is essential.

Working closely with the ICT Manager, the opportunity exists to build on existing experience and enhance and develop skills in leading Market technology to deliver the Councils service objectives. You should be educated to degree standard and have excellent knowledge in several of the following products, with particular emphasis on the relational databases :-

OS Systems – Windows, Linux, Unix

Relational Databases – Oracle, SqlServer, Ingres, Access

Reporting Tools – Crystal Reports, Bi-Query

Web Technology – ASP, .NET, XML,

System Analysis and Design – SSADM,UML

Programming – Visual Basic, Java, PL/SQL, C#
