This is an exciting new role which will require you to support the specialist staff in the Children’s Sensory Team to ensure that children with hearing impairment get the right technical support quickly and effectively so that they have the best possible listening opportunities in school.

You will be supported in your role by advisory teachers for children with hearing impairment and other members of the team as required. You will be a member of the Children’s Sensory Team.

The main aim of the role is to assist with administrative tasks; keeping a detailed audiological equipment database and recording system, processing new orders and returns for maintenance, allocation of equipment and liaison with suppliers. You will visit children and teachers in school to test or check equipment and carry out basic trouble shooting and to offer advice on hearing aids and the use of FM (radio aid systems). Previous experience is not essential, since full training will be given.
