Harrow Council’s award-winning scrutiny team is looking to recruit a temporary senior professional officer to cover the secondment of the current post holder for one year. This post offers the successful applicant an opportunity to use their excellent research, policy development and communication skills and to work with local councillors to monitor the effectiveness of the Executive’s decision making, to support the policy development function and to contribute to the Council’s community leadership role.
The successful candidate will play a key role in improving services by supporting the council’s ambitious improvement programme and will make a major contribution to the council’s ambition of being one of the best councils in
London by 2012.
You will work closely with scrutiny councillors undertaking major research and review projects, ensuring that projects are timely, use best practice principles and produce high quality reports with well developed conclusions in order to deliver real service improvement for the people of Harrow. You will be a self motivator and will use your initiative and their team leadership skills to support colleagues and continue the improvement of the scrutiny function in Harrow. You will deputise for the service manager. Ref. CE-TS1992
