The newly formed Corporate Business Support Service is seeking to appoint an outstanding professional to the Head of Service role within Children & Families. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and innovative person to lead the strategic direction of the Business Support Service.

You will be responsible for advising, influencing and shaping the implementation of the Council’s vision for the future, through the development of its Business Support Operating Model. You will develop and implement strategies, processes and procedures, to ensure a consistent and excellent value for money Business Support Service is provided to all services internally across the Council and to relevant external partners.

You will need to be able to demonstrate a high degree of leadership, strategic vision and influence by ensuring the Corporate Business Support Service operates effectively in establishing a vision for services and staff, setting priorities; monitoring performance; recognising diversity and involving stakeholders.

You will need a passion for raising standards and working effectively with both internal and external clients; including planning and steering the future development of the service. You will need to have appropriate management, professional or post graduate qualification or experience relevant to the post.
