HOUSING AND CLERICAL ASSISTANT (SHARED POST)
PART TIME – 18.5 HOURS PER WEEKPOST: 000282

BAND 3 – £15,570 TO £16,991 PRO RATA
FIXED TERM CONTRACT TO 31 MARCH 2011

We require a Clerical Assistant to work 18.5 hours per week, working all day Monday, Tuesday and alternate Wednesdays at the South Yarmouth Area Housing Office, on King Street. You will also be expected to work extra hours to cover the annual leave and any sick leave for other members of the reception teams, which may include at times working at both the South Yarmouth or Greyfriars offices.

You will carry out reception duties, receive and process tenants’ requests for repairs to Council dwellings, receive cash for rents, Council Tax etc, undertake general typing and give a full range of clerical support services to the Estate Managers and Repairs Inspector, including maintaining manual and computerised filing and recording systems.

You should have good keyboard skills and be used to working with computerised systems both mainframe and software packages. You must have good communication skills, be used to dealing with the public and have the ability to be tactful and helpful in stressful situations. Previous knowledge of; housing repairs, and a document imaging system (e.g. Civica) would be an advantage but not essential.
