Environmental Services Support Officer

Salary:£22,122 to £25,320 plus essential user car allowance (pay award pending) 

Hours:37 hours per week 

Working pattern:Full Time, Permanent position 

Location:Maltings House, Malthouse Lane, Gorleston-on-Sea, Great Yarmouth.

We require an innovative and energetic person to support the small but busy team of staff responsible for policy and service development, procurement and implementation of Environmental and Leisure Services in Great Yarmouth, together with development and implementation of the Councils Environmental Management and Sustainability policies and procedures.

You will be qualified to at least NVQ level 3 or equivalent in one of the relevant areas or disciplines managed within the section (e.g. Environmental Management, Landscape Management, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering) together with evidence of suitable experience in at least one of the relevant areas of work, and a proven ability to undertake research work and statistical analysis. You will be able to work both individually and as part of a team and will demonstrate good analytical and communication skills (written and verbal). You must also be Computer literate with the ability to effectively manage budgets.

Working with other departments of the Council, external partners and agencies, business, community and voluntary groups, you will inspire and motivate those around you to contribute actively and effectively.
