We are seeking to appoint a teaching assistant for 10 hours a week, term time only. The position is to work with a pre-school child who has a profound hearing loss and Cerebral palsy. As the child has a statement of special educational needs the hours may be subject to change.
The successful candidate will be able to work with flexibility and enthusiasm as part of a multi-professional team. The following will be required for this position
– BSL level one (working towards level two)
– Recent experience of working with young children
– Manual handling training or a willingness to attend
– Be able to follow and implement advice from other professionals including OT and Physio programmes
– Having safe working practices especially when using specific equipment
– Have excellent record keeping skills
– Have excellent communication skills and work effectively with children, families and other professionals
– Work as part of a friendly supportive team
