A vacancy has arisen within Gloucestershire County Council for a qualified Rehabilitation Officer for Visual Impairment (ROVI) to work 22.5 hours per week, joining a motivated team of professional staff, within the Sensory Services Team of Adult Social Care, delivering a county wide service.
With a DipHE in Rehabilitation Studies – Visual Impairment, you will be responsible for your own caseload, working in partnership with colleagues in housing, health and the voluntary/independent sector, to provide service to people in their own homes.
Effective communication skills are essential as you need to work both positively and sensitively with service users and their carers within a framework of legislation and departmental eligibility criteria.
This is an excellent opportunity to become involved in a developing environment and help to establish new efficient ways of working, whilst gaining the support of an established sensory impairment team with regular supervision and appraisals.
