A vacancy has arisen for a Human Resources Adviser to support the HR team within Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service based at our Headquarters at Waterwells Business Park, Quedgeley, Gloucester.
The post holder will have responsibility for the HR payroll and data management functions; administering monthly payroll, maintaining all HR database records, as well as producing statistical reports, returns and other aspects of data management.
The post holder will provide an effective and comprehensive HR service ensuring that consistent professional standards are maintained and compliance with legislation and local practices & policy. As an experienced HR generalist, the post holder will be required to support allocated employee relations cases.
The successful applicant will therefore have a generalist HR background with specific expertise in Payroll management and possess the following skills / experience:
• Managing and maintaining payroll systems and processes using SAP (or similar).
• Experience of creating complex and confidential reports and management of personal and sensitive organisational data.
• Ability to work on own initiative to tight deadlines and also to participate fully as a member of the HR Team.
• Have excellent communication and problem solving skills.
• Experience of producing and interpreting HR management information reports and using bespoke IT systems.
• Comprehensive skills in Microsoft Office applications (particularly word and excel).
• Experience of providing HR advice and guidance to managers and staff on terms and conditions, HR procedures and employment law, and managing individual caseload.
