To ensure that we are meeting our legal obligations surrounding the redeployment of staff, applications from those on the redeployment register will be given priority.
We require confident, reliable, flexible, efficient people with a professional approach. This is a dual role that entails performing statutory (marriage and civil partnership) and non-statutory (naming and renewal of vows) ceremonies and to register marriages and civil partnerships. You will be required to attend ceremonies in our Registration Offices, some places of worship and Approved Premises throughout the County. Confidence and assertiveness are skills needed to deal with large parties and to take ceremonies whilst adhering to procedures at all times.
You will need to have a sensitive approach and show a good rapport with members of the public. Ideally you should have previous work experience of providing a service to the public, which includes interviewing customers. Strong interpersonal skills, computer skills and clear handwriting, with attention to detail are also essential attributes.
Candidates must show an ability to assimilate technical information with a positive approach to learning and implementing new skills and procedures. Training will be provided. You will be required to work weekends and weekdays according to your availability and ceremonies booked throughout the year.
Enhanced rates of pay for weekend working apply.
You will need to hold a current full driving licence and have a vehicle available for travel on business, as you will be required to travel countywide.
