Affordable, quality homes and services that enrich communities
We provide homes for rent, affordable home ownership and residential care homes. But we’re more than a landlord – we also build new homes and provide employment, training and community programmes.

Our mission is to make a positive and lasting contribution to the neighbourhoods in which we work. And our focus is firmly on east London and Essex – this has been the case since we started as a small housing association in 1979 – and that commitment hasn’t changed.

We achieve this by:

• Developing a range of rent and home ownership opportunities;
• Improving the neighbourhoods where our residents live;
• Providing extra care and support when people need it;
• Developing quality, affordable housing; and
• Engaging with the community to provide employment, training and community programmes.

Yes, we’re a housing and regeneration group, but at our heart we’re a people business, and we understand that people need more than just a place to live.

With such a strong focus on local communities in east London and Essex, we also have a clear vision for how we behave as a business. This also brings with it responsibility, and it’s something we are always aware of.

In 2009/10 we continued to invest in our 800-strong workforce, to be seen and heard as leaders in our field and to demonstrate our community driven values.
